The UUFL is hosting at our fellowship building a dramatic reading of the play, “Church,” which will be performed by actors from Laramie’s Relative Theatrics, at 6:30 on March 7th (doors open at 6:00) with a post-reading discussion led by Jeff Lockwood.

Relative Theatrics — known for their “risky, relevant, real” productions—presents thought-provoking, contemporary theatre that examines the unifying qualities of the human race. Taking artistic risks, they provide a community gathering place where thoughts can be exchanged about society, culture, and the power of creativity.

The playwright for “Church” is Young Jean Lee, a Guggenheim Fellow, whose work has been performed in over thirty cities around the world. Lee was called “the most adventurous downtown playwright of her generation” by The New York Times and “one of the best experimental playwrights in America” in Time Out New York. She was the first Asian American woman to have a play produced on Broadway.
